3x3x3 Videos
For this assignment, students were asked to explore the concepts discussed in Why Students Don’t Like School by Daniel T. Willingham as well as its implications for technology integration and schooling. Each group created two short instructional videos for two assigned chapters (one video for each chapter) of the WSDLS book.
Each video overview of the chapter was to be 3 minutes long, provide 3 key ideas of the chapter and 3 practical implications of these ideas for educators and for teaching (hence 3 x 3 x 3!).
My group had Ch. 3 and Ch. 7. We decided to use stop motion to create the videos. One used Play Doh and clay, the other were paper cut-outs we made. Overall, I was able to creatively use and showcase my video background to show my newfound understanding of how the brain catalogues "learning". This led me to come to believe that there must be a balanced approach to pedagogical theory, without forgetting that learning has a very basic science to it as well.
Other members in my group were Renee Jorae, Alexis Miller and Lauren Villaluz.
